New Beginnings is the outcome of the journey I took to define who I am. This painting serves as a transition from art that released past pain and trauma to fostering my authentic self. The wasp serves as a guide to connect me to the natural world, my place of introspection. The moon represents rejuvenation, constantly renewing itself through its cycles. Blue represents externally what I am feeling inside: peace. Gold symbolizes abundance; the texture reflects internal breakthroughs. The clothing represents new-found comfort in dressing to suit my individuality. The spirals represent the winding journey I took inwards to explore myself. Doing the hard work of changing my narrative from self-loathing to self-acceptance was grueling, but not doing this work would be even harder. Took 6 months to complete piece

Created during my senior year of high school, this collection is a meditation on ancestry, spirituality, and femininity. Through these works, I explored three guiding questions:

• How do I find connection in my ancestral roots, nature, and self?

• Can nature provide a space for introspection and self-realization?

• What does it look like to embody my newly discovered femininity?

This series weaves together the natural world of Arkansas with themes of identity, divinity, and self-acceptance. The piece “Displaced” has won several awards including 1st place AYAA 2023, traveled across Arkansas in the “2024 Small Works on Paper Juried Show, and recognized by congressmen J. French Hill, marking its significance not only in my personal journey but also in the broader artistic landscape. This collection accompanies an experimental film developed during the birth of this portfolio titled “The Shifting of Alternating Timelines and Realities”. This film serves as the beginning of the exploration of my musical persona & archetype Ethereal Hibiscus.
